Garrincha (1933-1983), often considered one of the greatest legends of Brazilian football, made his mark on the history of the sport with his incredible dribbling talent and ability to unsettle opposing defenses. He played a crucial role in Brazil’s first World Cup victories in 1958 and 1962, and is often seen as the perfect complement to Pelé, bringing magic and joy to the pitch and into the homes of millions of Brazilians.

Garrincha also left an immeasurable legacy at Botafogo, where he is considered one of the greatest idols in the club's history. He played for Botafogo between 1953 and 1965, during which time he helped the team win several titles, including the Campeonato Carioca in 1957, 1961 and 1962. With his unique style of play, characterized by disconcerting dribbling and speed, Garrincha not only brought glory to the club, but also enchanted fans and opponents. He personified the joy of football and elevated Botafogo to a level of national and international prestige. Garrincha's legacy at Botafogo goes beyond the titles; he shaped the club's identity as a breeding ground for great players and made the black and white jersey synonymous with talent and magic on the pitch.

In December 1953, Garrincha, still a young player on the rise, played in a game in Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso, one of his first games with the Botafogo first team, where he would begin to show his impressive talent, which would later make him a legend of Brazilian and world football. Despite his fame, Garrincha's autographs are much rarer than those of Pelé, who died at an advanced age, especially those from the first year of his incredible career. This autograph is exceptional.
