Jack Dempsey (1895 - 1983) was the first boxer to become a major celebrity, being three times world heavyweight champion, between 1919 and 1926. He invented his own style that was admired - and copied - by other boxers, such as Mohamed Ali and Mike Tyson. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the greatest boxers in history and continues to be revered in the United States, as an athlete and a person, 30 years after his death.
During his retirement, between 1935 and 1974, Jack Dempsey opened and managed his own restaurant in New York City on Broadway, where he would sign autographs on cards depicting his great fights. Consequently, this document is not very rare, but the image and autograph set, being beautiful and well preserved, makes an ideal gift or the first item in a collection.
