Sometimes great adventures start in a garage: so they say of Silicon Valley, the birthplace of technology giants such as IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Apple. The Cupertino company is no exception to the rule. Its origin took place in the garage of Steve Jobs' childhood home, where he and Steve Wozniak would have assembled their first machines. It was still the beginning of personal computing and the company entered the market with the launch of the Apple I, in 1976.

Wozniak was the lead designer of the Apple I and II. These machines took Apple from a garage activity to an internationally recognized company in the personal computer business. The Apple II was also successful in its early years and "paid the bills" for the company; that's because the Macintosh was initially a commercial failure while Wozniak's Apple II generated a positive balance.

Undoubtedly, the Steve Jobs and Wozniak partnership was essential for the success of the venture. Although it seems that Jobs receives more credit for the company's success, Apple would not be what it is today without the figure of the "engineer" combined with the "salesman".
