French transcription

My dear Patricia,

Vasarely

Portuguese translation

My dear Patricia,

I am ashamed, but once again this music has driven me crazy… palpitations, cold sweats, despair! This will need to be analyzed. But how can I imagine a participation in your ballet? You still can't make your "elite woman in gray silk" dance to Lulli or Geminiani. Today I will go to the countryside, I kiss you and I apologize. Vasarely

Victor Vasarely (1906 - 1997) is a unique visual artist in the history of 20th century art. A true star of the 60s and 70s, he stands out in contemporary art by creating a new trend: optical art. We find his mark in fashion; in music, David Bowie uses one of his paintings for the cover of "Space Oddity"; in automobiles, he renews the Renault logo; among others.

The Vasarely Foundation in Aix-en-Provence, in the south of France, has kept the artistic legacy of the master of optics alive for forty years and has maintained his myth. The building, designed by Victor Vasarely himself, was classified as a historic monument in 2016. It welcomes visitors who wish to learn more about the unforgettable and avant-garde work of a world-famous artist whose autographs rarely appear on the market. This letter is the first available in at least 10 years.
