My dear friend

Santos Dumont (1873 - 1932) left with his father and family for France on April 6, 1891, at the age of 17. He lived in Paris for two decades, from 1892 to 1914.
He would later write: “As a young man, I made my first ascent in Paris. In Paris I met airship builders, engine builders, mechanics, all as patient as they were experts. In Paris I made all my first experiences…”
In 1901, a dirigible balloon circled the Eiffel Tower for the first time in history and the pilot, Alberto Santos Dumont, would become the first Brazilian celebrity known worldwide.
Documents autographed by Alberto Santos Dumont are rare and highly sought after, especially those in excellent condition. This is the case with this small business card made in his famous residence on the Champs Elysees, in Paris, at the beginning of the 20th century.
