To Carlos Eduardo A big hug from Ayrton Senna 88
Carlos' mother obtained this autograph in the office of the late former mayor Jânio Quadros. She was the municipal attorney in the office and helped Ayrton to continue with a social project.
The date of 1988 is of utmost importance in Ayrton Senna's career, as it marks the conquest of his first Formula 1 world title. That year, Senna joined the McLaren team, forming a remarkable partnership with Frenchman Alain Prost. Together, they dominated the season, winning 15 of the 16 races contested.
The championship win was sealed at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka, where Senna, even after a problematic start that dropped him to 14th position, made an impressive recovery and won the race, thus securing his first world title.
In addition to the important date, this autograph by Ayrton Senna is unique for two other important reasons: a dedication, something that Ayrton rarely did, and the size of the letters and especially the signature, the largest we have ever authenticated from the driver.
