Collection: Slavery

The Slavery collection brings together photographs, drawings, notes and period documents relating to slavery and abolition in Brazil, the last country in the Americas to abolish slavery, in 1888: a note by Auguste-François Perrinon (1850), photographs by Christiano Junior (1871), a study by Benedito Calixto after Debret, a panorama of Rio de Janeiro by Marc Ferrez (1875–1890), a photograph of the Santa Thereza farm with Italian immigrants (1890–1910), and more. All pieces come with a certificate of authenticity and a guarantee.
