Brigitte Bardot (born 1934) is an icon of French culture and one of the most famous French artists. A film actress and singer, she was the leading female figure of the 1950s and 1960s. A world star, a symbol of modern women and sexual freedom, she worked with the greatest directors, starring in 48 films and more than 80 songs, in a career spanning 21 years.

In Brazil, Bardot became famous when she visited Búzios, a small fishing town that became, after her visits, one of the most sophisticated and sought-after spots in the Brazilian summer. Also known as "BB", Bardot stopped her career in 1973 to become an "animal rights" activist.

The Cannes International Film Festival, known worldwide, was particularly interesting in 1956. "Le Monde du Silence" by French director Jacques-Yves Cousteau won the Palme d'Or. It was one of the first films made about the oceans and the theme of environmental preservation.

That same year, the script for the film "Et Dieu... créa la femme" was written. No producer wanted to finance the film, but Brigitte Bardot went to the festival. It was such a success that the Italian stars Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida were left in its shadow. The film finally managed to get the necessary financing. Filming took place in Saint Tropez, where BB still lives today. It was this controversial film that made Brigitte Bardot enter the history of cinema, becoming a legend, like Marilyn Monroe in the United States.

It is relatively easy to find Brigitte Bardot's autographs, but only a few were signed by BB in 1956, the year she was revealed to the public.
