Giuseppe Verdi (1813 - 1901) was one of the most influential opera composers of the 19th century. Considered Italy's greatest composer, along with Richard Wagner's in Germany, his works are frequently performed in opera houses around the world and dominate the standard repertoire a century and a half after his compositions. Nabucco, La Traviata and Aida are the best known.

Business cards with portraits of anonymous people or famous people appeared in France in 1854 and quickly became a huge success until the early years of the 20th century. They were collected and exchanged by families.

Here we have a rare portrait, in business card format, of the great Italian composer.
