In 1958, Chico Xavier was already a central figure in Spiritism in Brazil, working intensively as a medium and psychographer in the city of Pedro Leopoldo, Minas Gerais. At that time, he worked at the Luiz Gonzaga Spiritist Center, where he received spiritual messages that he transcribed into books, many of which were attributed to the spirit Emmanuel. His work gained increasing recognition, and he had already published several works that spread the principles of Spiritism, always with a humble attitude, dedicated to charity and the spiritual consolation of people.
