My friend, I am happy to receive your letter and to know your admiration (...)

Pelé (born 1940) became a player for the famous Brazilian soccer club "Santos" at the age of 15. He played there for almost two decades before moving to the United States to play for "Cosmos", where he spent three years. The three-time World Cup champion retired in 1977. At the time of writing, Pelé was already retired as a player, was considering getting involved in politics, and was very present in the media due to his relationship with Xuxa.

This letter is very interesting because it is written in French - a language that Pelé speaks well - with a very respectful and friendly tone towards his fan. Also notable is the unusual signature "Edson = Pelé".
