In 1981, the great player Pelé wrote a very nice letter to a French fan.
Letter written and signed by Pelé to a French fan named Henri Gros. A player's custom role page. In French. 21.4 cm x 27.7 cm. August 14, 1981. Excellent condition. Single piece.
My friend, I am happy to receive your letter and to know your admiration (...)
Pelé (born in 1940) became a player for the famous Brazilian football club "Santos" at the age of 15. He played there for almost two decades before going to the United States to play with "Cosmos", where he stayed for three years. The three-time World Cup champion retired in 1977. At the time of writing this text, Pelé was already retired as a player, considered getting involved in politics, and was very present in the media for his relationship with Xuxa.
This letter is very interesting because it is written in French - a language that Pelé masters well - with a very respectful and friendly tone for his fan. Also notable is the unusual signature "Edson = Pelé".
