Charles Aznavour (born 1924) is a French actor and singer of Armenian origin. He has acted in more than 60 films, composed around 850 songs in several languages and has sold well over 100 million records. He is one of the best-known French singers in France and the world.
As a musician, his big break came when Édith Piaf discovered him: they went on a tour together in France and the United States. Just like for Edith Piaf, love is her favorite theme. After the death of Frank Sinatra, Charles Aznavour is the last of the traditional "crooners". The list of artists who have sung Aznavour ranges from Fred Astaire to Bing Cosby, from Ray Charles to Liza Minelli.
In his long parallel career as an actor, Charles Aznavour starred in "Shoot the Pianist", by François Truffaut, in 1960. He was also successful in the film "The Drum", in 1979, which won the Oscar for best film in a foreign language.
This autograph, in perfect condition, was signed in 1988, the year Charles Aznavour was elected "artist of the century" by CNN, beating Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan. We also appreciate the delicate photography and signature of this stage monument.
